Former Non-Permanent Judge of the Court of Final Appeal (2000-2021)

Peter Julian Millett became a Non-Permanent Judge of the Hong Kong Court of Final Appeal in 2000.

Lord Millett was born in the United Kingdom in 1932. He obtained a Double First at Cambridge in Classics and Law, and an MA from Trinity Hall, Cambridge. He was called to the English Bar at the Middle Temple in 1955 and admitted ad eundem to Lincoln's Inn in 1959. In 1973, he was appointed Queen's Counsel. He was made an Honorary Fellow of Trinity Hall, Cambridge in 1994 and an Honorary LLD of London University in 1999.

In 1986, Lord Millett was appointed a Judge of the High Court of Justice, Chancery Division. He was appointed a Lord Justice of Appeal in 1994 and a Lord of Appeal in Ordinary in 1998.

Lord Millett was awarded an Honorary Fellowship by Queen Mary, University of London in 2012.

Lord Millett was awarded the Gold Bauhinia Star in 2015. 

Lord Millett passed away in 2021.
