Mr Michael McHUGH

Former Non-Permanent Judge of the Court of Final Appeal (2006-2012)

Mr Justice McHugh became a Non-Permanent Judge of the Court of Final Appeal in 2006.

Mr Justice McHugh was born in Australia in 1935. He was admitted to the New South Wales Bar in 1961 after taking the Barristers Admission Board Examinations. He was appointed Queen's Counsel in 1973.

In 1984, Mr Justice McHugh was appointed a Judge of the Court of Appeal of the Supreme Court of New South Wales. In 1989, he was appointed to the Bench of the High Court of Australia, where he served until 2005.
