Former Non-Permanent Judge of the Court of Final Appeal (1997-2012)
Mr Justice Nazareth became a Non-Permanent Judge of the Court of Final Appeal in 1997.
Mr Justice Nazareth was born in Kenya in 1932. He graduated with a LLB from Bombay University. He was called to the English Bar at Lincoln's Inn in 1962 and appointed Queen's Counsel in 1981.
In 1976, Mr Justice Nazareth joined the Hong Kong Legal Department as Assistant Principal Crown Counsel. In 1977, he was promoted to Principal Crown Counsel. He served as Law Officer between 1979 and 1985.
Mr Justice Nazareth became a Judge of the High Court in 1985. He was appointed a Justice of Appeal in 1991. From 1994 to 2000, he served as a Vice-President of the Court of Appeal.
Mr Justice Nazareth was appointed Officer of the Order of the British Empire in 1975, and Commander of the Order of the British Empire in 1985. He was awarded the Gold Bauhinia Star in 2000. He died in 2018.
