Former Non-Permanent Judge of the Court of Final Appeal (1997-2003)
Mr Justice Macdougall became a Non-Permanent Judge of the Court of Final Appeal in 1997.
Mr Justice Macdougall was born in Australia in 1932. He obtained an LLB from the University of Western Australia. He was called to the Western Australian Bar in 1957.
Mr Justice Macdougall joined the Hong Kong Legal Department in 1965 as a Crown Counsel. He was appointed Senior Crown Counsel in 1968, Assistant Principal Crown Counsel in 1973 and Principal Crown Counsel in 1977. He became a Judge of the High Court in 1980 and a Justice of Appeal in 1989. From 1993 to 1995, he served as a Vice President of the Court of Appeal.
Mr Justice Macdougall died in 2022.
