Former Non-Permanent Judge of the Court of Final Appeal (1997-2006)
Mr Justice Clough became a Non-Permanent Judge of the Court of Final Appeal in 1997.
Mr Justice Clough was born in South Africa in 1924. He obtained a law degree from Cambridge University in 1948. He was called to the Bar in 1949.
Mr Justice Clough was a Federal Counsel in Malaya in 1951. He was appointed a Deputy Circuit Judge of the Chancery Bar in 1958. He was a Legal Affairs Adviser in Brunei in 1978. He joined the Hong Kong Judiciary as a District Judge in 1981. He served as a Judge of the High Court from 1983 to 1986, and as a Justice of Appeal from 1986 to 1992. From 1997 to 2006, he served as a Non-Permanent Judge of the Court of Final Appeal. He has also served as a Justice of Appeal in Gibraltar and Bermuda. He died in 2015.
