Former Non-Permanent Judge of the Court of Final Appeal (1997-2009)
Mr Justice Silke became a Non-Permanent Judge of the Court of Final Appeal in 1997.
Mr Justice Silke was born in Ireland in 1929. He graduated from Dublin University in 1953. He was called to the Irish Bar in 1955.
Mr Justice Silke became a Magistrate in Borneo in 1959. He served as a Puisne Judge in Borneo from 1966 to 1969. He joined the Hong Kong Judiciary as a Magistrate in 1969. He was appointed a Judge of the District Court in 1975 and a Judge of the High Court in 1979. In 1981, he was promoted to the Court of Appeal and served as a Vice President of the Court of Appeal from 1987 to 1994. He was a Commissioner of the Supreme Court of Brunei Darussalam.
Mr Justice Silke died in 2012.
