Former Non-Permanent Judge of the Court of Final Appeal (1997-2003)

Sir Alan Huggins became a Non-Permanent Judge of the Court of Final Appeal in 1997.

Sir Alan Huggins was born in the United Kingdom in 1921. He graduated from Sidney Sussex College, Cambridge. He was called to the English Bar at Lincoln's Inn in 1947.

Sir Alan Huggins was a Resident Magistrate in Uganda from 1951 to 1953. He joined the Hong Kong Judiciary as a Magistrate in 1953 and became a Judge of the District Court in 1958. He was appointed a Puisne Judge in 1965 and was promoted to the Court of Appeal in 1976. From 1980 to 1987, he served as a Vice President of the Court of Appeal. In 2000, he was appointed President of the Brunei Court of Appeal. He was also appointed a Judge of the Courts of Appeal of Bermuda, British Antarctic Territory, British Indian Ocean Territory and the Falkland Islands.

Sir Alan Huggins was appointed Knight Bachelor in 1980. He died in 2009.
