Former Non-Permanent Judge of the Court of Final Appeal (1997-2003)

Sir Denys Roberts became a Non-Permanent Judge of the Court of Final Appeal in 1997.

Sir Denys Roberts was born in the United Kingdom in 1923. He graduated from Wadham College, Oxford. He was called to the English Bar at Lincoln's Inn in 1950.

Sir Denys Roberts was a Crown Counsel in Nyasaland from 1953 to 1960 and Attorney General of Gibraltar from 1960 to 1962. In Hong Kong, he served as Solicitor General from 1962 to 1966, Attorney General from 1966 to 1973, Colonial Secretary from 1973 to 1976 and Chief Secretary from 1976 to 1979. He was appointed Chief Justice of Hong Kong in 1979 and served in that office until 1988. From 1979 to 2001, he served as Chief Justice of Brunei Darussalam. He was President of the Bermuda Court of Appeal from 1988 to 1994.

Sir Denys Roberts was appointed Knight Commander of the Order of the British Empire in 1975. He died in 2013.
