The Court of Final Appeal is the highest court of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region. This website contains information about the history, the Judges (past and present), and the work of the Court of Final Appeal. I hope you will find the information useful and interesting.

The Basic Law provides that the courts of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region shall exercise judicial power independently, free from any interference, with the power of final adjudication resting with the Court of Final Appeal.

The Judicial Oath requires that all judges and judicial officers serve Hong Kong conscientiously, dutifully, in full accordance with the law, honestly and with integrity, safeguard the law and administer justice without fear or favour, self-interest or deceit.

The rule of law is a cornerstone for the prosperity and stability of Hong Kong. The Judiciary’s duty, and my mission as the Chief Justice, is to maintain an independent and impartial judiciary which upholds the rule of law and safeguards the rights and freedoms of the people of Hong Kong.
