From its establishment in 1997, until September 2015, the Court of Final Appeal was located in the Former French Mission Building at 1 Battery Path.

The Former French Mission Building has a long history and is now a declared monument under the Antiquities and Monuments Ordinance (Cap.53).

It is now also referred to as the Former Court of Final Appeal Building.

As from September 2015, the new home of the Court of Final Appeal is the Old Supreme Court Building.

The Old Supreme Court Building accommodated what was known as the Supreme Court of Hong Kong (comprising what is now the Court of First Instance and the Court of Appeal) from 1912 to 1984 and was then occupied by the Legislative Council of Hong Kong from 1985 to 2011. Upon the relocation of the Legislative Council to its new premises in Tamar, the Old Supreme Court Building was returned to the Judiciary.

The Old Supreme Court Building also has a long history and its exterior is a declared monument under the Antiquities and Monuments Ordinance (Cap.53).

This building is now known as the Court of Final Appeal Building.
