Mr WONG King Wah

Mr Wong became the Registrar of the Court of Final Appeal in June 2023 after having served as the Acting Registrar from September 2018 to May 2023.

Mr Wong was born and educated in Hong Kong. He graduated from the University of Hong Kong in 1982 with a BSc (Hons) majoring in Chemistry. He then obtained an LLB (Hons) from London University in 1990 and a PCLL in 1991 from the University of Hong Kong with a Law Society award. He practised as a solicitor in Hong Kong from 1993 doing mainly litigation. He was also admitted as a solicitor of the Supreme Court of England and Wales in 1997.

Mr Wong joined the Judiciary as a Permanent Magistrate in 2001, and was appointed a Judge of the District Court in 2009. After joining the Judiciary, he acted as Presiding Officer of the Labour Tribunal, Adjudicator of the Small Claims Tribunal, Master of the District Court, Judge of the Family Court and District Court, Presiding Officer of the Lands Tribunal and Master of the High Court. He was appointed a Senior Deputy Registrar of the High Court at the same time as his appointment as the Registrar of the Court of Final Appeal.
