Mr Justice Stock became a Non-Permanent Judge of the Court of Final Appeal in 2010.
Mr Justice Stock was born in Rhodesia in 1945. He graduated with an LLB from the University of Liverpool in 1967. He was called to the English Bar in 1968. He moved to Hong Kong in 1978 where he served in the Attorney General's Chambers as a Crown Counsel. He was appointed Senior Crown Counsel in 1979 and Deputy Principal Crown Counsel in 1984. He was called to the Hong Kong Bar in 1984 and appointed Queen's Counsel in 1985. From 1987 to 1991, he served as the Solicitor General.
Mr Justice Stock joined the Hong Kong Judiciary as a Deputy Judge of the High Court in 1991. He was appointed a Judge of the High Court in 1992. He was appointed a Justice of Appeal in 2000 and served as a Vice President of the Court of Appeal from 2009 to 2014.
Mr Justice Stock was awarded the Gold Bauhinia Star in 2014.
